Wrist Putting

The Dangers of “Breaking” your Wrists in Putting

Breaking your wrists when putting is a very common problem among club golfers. When you flick your left or right hand at impact most golfers will suffer from poor consistency on the greens.

Very few golfers have the ability to control their distance of their putts as they are relying 100% on feel. When we use the PuttingZone system we utilise tempo, the brain and natural instincts which automatically gives us distance control.

The only part of our body that should move is actually our shoulders and everything else reacts to this movement. So basically all parts of the putting stroke should move together with the wrists remaining locked….. especially through impact.

There seems a desire with wrist putters to control the putter by releasing the putter head. The use of the wrists creates another movement that can lead to more inconsistency.

For better long term results on the greens use your shoulders as the prime mover of your putter and NOT your wrists.
