Golf Swing Tips by Dan Shauger and his mentor Mike Austin
These Golf Swing tips by Dan Shauger and Mike Austin have been especially written to support golfers who have chosen to learn this very efficient and effective way of swinging the golf club.
Dan Shauger’s “How to Kill the Ball” and The 21st Century golf swing books provide the written text for learning the “A Perfect Swing” and the How to Kill the Ball series of DVD’s provide excellent resources for visual learners.
The golf swing tips you will learn from Dan Shauger in some ways may not be relevant to your current golf swing…..reason being that the A Perfect Swing Golf Instruction is unique and as such may challenge your view of the golf swing.
Our golf swing differs in mainly two ways
1. Our Pivot system for transferring weight
2. Our Hands for swinging the golf club
Golf Swing tips are really only golf instruction written in another way so as to try and make things clearer for the golfer who may not have understood the golf instruction that may have been written in the books.
Also please remember golf tips are just that…..tips….nothing beats personal golf lessons and coaching.
Dan Shauger golf tips cover the following
Club head control
Curvature control……”Keys to understanding left and right ball flight”
Hand Action….. How to really generate speed and power
Release the club……”How to release the clubhead for maximum power”
Trajectory control…..”How to hit high and low shot’s”
Twirl the club…..”how the wrist action works to turn the club”

I have your book 21st Century Golf Swing. I am 68 years old. I shoot between 85 & 90. I feel I am still not getting the club head speed I need. I hit the ball about 200-210 off the tee. I am hitting the ball with greater accuracy using your method. If you could explain the proper grip I think that might help me. I still have the tendency to roll my left arm to right on backswing. I feel this is the reason I am losing club head speed. Thank you.
Hi Tom,
This is a difficult one as trying for further distance by increasing hand speed or club head speed can lead to being less accurate. Sometimes there is a trade off when we go for distance.
200-210 is still pretty good, however it does restrict your ability to par some par 4′s. For club head speed just throwing the club head with the right hand using a heavier club will activate your muscles to work harder and faster. On the flip side we want to feel the swing as effortless when we play our shot.
I will try and put up a photo for the grip but in general it is very natural and neutral
I feel I have the swing down pretty good except I am still struggling to hit the 3 wood off the deck solid. Mostly weak slices. Any advice? Thank you.
Normally if you are swinging good you would either push hard or pull hard. Week slices would mean cutting across or turning the club head to early inside, so you are catching the ball on the toe of your 3 wood. Quick fix is to swing out longer before turning the club inside.
Or use the lower body more to drive the club head through the hitting zone
