Fat Shots Golf

Fat shots in golf causes a major loss in Distance.

One of the major causes of hitting the ground behind the ball first in the golf swing is dropping the shoulder to low in the down swing.

The plane or turning of the shoulder going up for the backswing should be the same as when we are going down towards the ball for the forward swing.

Unfortunately our desire to kill the ball creates a wobbly wheel from our shoulders and we drop forward or lunge forward and hit the ground first.

The second reason is we fail to move or shift our weight . If you stay on your back foot and do not move forward into the swing you will hit a fat shot. Weight shift or weight transfer is an essential element in any golf swing to master.

The third reason we hit fat shots is we release the club to early from the top of the swing again without transferring our weight forward.

The "How to Kill the Ball" and 21st Century Golf Swing" are fantastic books to understand proper weight shift and how to release the clubhead  to prevent fat shots in golf.
