The importance of a good "Setup" position
- Her feet are basically the same distance apart as her shoulders
- Her hands are slightly ahead of the ball
- She is in a well balanced position
- Her left shoulder is slightly higher than her right shoulder
So Rina's set up is good.....but as you can see in her actually swing we have some work to do with her lower half.....the hips and especially the right knee are essential for good weight transfer. You will notice how flat footed she is. Even though she generates a lot of power and she still manages to hit a straight ball with this action she will eventually create problem's for her back.
I have put her video and my video together so you can compare how we use the lower half of our bodies. Please pause our golf swings and pay particular attention to the use of the HIPS and the RIGHT knee.
