Long Drive Golf Instruction
To be able to hit the ball with power and accuracy we must first look to one of the longest drivers of a golf ball...Mike Austin... who at the age of 64 hit a HUGE drive of 515 yards in a Senior tour event. His drive is still the longest ever recorded in competition play.
Remember also that this was achieved back in 1974 without the advantage's of modern technology!!!
By studying Mike Austin's methods you will learn a proven system which includes using the natural levers of the body to create maximum power for you to swing the club and best of all you will learn a very conventional looking golf swing even though the method's we use are anything but conventional.
See we use a pivot motion that is certainly not taught by modern day golf instructor's.This pivot motion of the body includes lateral movement of the hips both back and forward....a big no no in the modern swing.
The use of the pivot actually allows the body to turn further BEHIND the ball which in it self increases your swing arc and allows you more time to release the club head.
The pivot also controls the line of your club as it is released from the top.
This method has been proven not only by Mike Austin but by his star pupil Mike Dunaway. Mike became a world long drive champion using method's developed by Mike Austin.
The pivot and the use of the hands are the core of hitting those big drives down the fairway.
Dan Shauger's books "How to Kill the Ball" and 21st Century Golf Swing covers all the principles of long drive instruction.
Dan has also trained long drive champions including Jaacob Bowden,John Marshall and Jim Liska using all the techniques described in his books. "Jaacob has just set a new personal best long drive record of 421 yards in a Remax World qualifying event"
