The Pendulum Putting System
Janis Zichmanis is the founder and president of the Pure Pendulum Putting System. He has created two very good products.....the"Pure 1 Pendulum Putter" and Pure Pendulum Putting Grip.
Once you set up to putt with this putter your arms and hands will mirror each other which creates a very even and balanced position to make a stroke.
A friend of mine placed the grip in his hands like I instructed (like the photo below) and he then made a couple of stokes. When he went back to his normal putter and grip he couldn't believe the difference. With the common or normal grips it is difficult make a grip like this, which in itself restricts your ability to make a pure pendulum swing.
I putt using what I call a "preacher's grip". The problem for me was....... I couldn't find a grip for my putter that conformed to my putting grip style. I was very excited though when I stumbled over Janis's website while doing my own research for grips. Here was a guy who had already invented in my opinion a perfect putting grip to make a pure pendulum stroke.
I ordered the grips and also the Pure Pendulum 1 putter to trial them out. In my opinion the putter and grips conform to the putting style I teach better than any putter I have tested so far. (I have tested over 30 different designs)
With our PuttingZone system of putting we use a pendulum system which revolves around putting with the shoulders using "dead hands".
Using the "preacher's grip" allows the shoulders to be absolutely level at set up. This level shoulder position is essential for true pendulum style putting. Most golfers bend their elbows to try to accomodate a flat shoulder position. This grip allows your arms to hang naturally......with no manipulation of the body to create a solid and stable platform for pure putting.
The Pure Pendulum Putter 1 was in my opinion a little on the ugly side. I emailed Janis with my comments and he said I was the first in over 2000 people who have either trialled or played with his putter to say it was ugly.
Putting the looks of the Pure Pendulum Putter aside......I must say it is one of the most accurate putters I have used. The black line down the middle provides a great guide for targeting. It is very easy to line up the putter through the centre of the ball to your target.
It has a wider than normal blade which I thought was too wide to start with......however when you start putting with the Pure Pendulum putter these characteristics seem to dissappear. The putts run nice and true with a good responsive milled head.
The putter is medium in weight in comparison to most putters......the large grip makes the putter seem heavier than it actually is. It is also more upright than standard putters (78 degrees v standard 72 degrees) which enables you to easily reach a position right over the top of the ball.
By the way the putter has been designed by a guy who designed Jack Nichlaus's famous putter.
So all in all this new Putting System combined with our PuttingZone system will help any golfer get better results on the green's.
It is good to remember that we use our putter for about 40% of all our golf shots.

What a difference new putter grip plus tips have made to my golf; 79 Ist sat ;77 last sat ,am putting with confidence now although still missing odd careless one when concentration lapses. I cannot thank you enough for your advice, help and golf tips, the ultimate would be to get to one of your boot camps but i dont think time will allow it this time. I have set myself a goal of somehow getting up for a lesson sometime in future so once again thank you so much for your help,
