Some aspects of Dan Shaugers golf instruction method. When you learn the full swing one of the most important elements to learn is balance.

The best golf instruction tip I can suggest you do is after you have read or watched a golf instruction book or DVD, make sure that there is a teacher who can provide you with one on one lessons.

I can’t stress enough that one on one lessons are the fastest way to get ahead with your golf instruction. What normally happens is that many golfers will purchase the latest instruction DVD or book and then try to learn by themselves the instruction written about.

The danger that you will find is that your interpretation of what the golf instructor is asking you to do maybe wildly different from what you can actually achieve. You may have flaws that you are not aware of that may stop you performing the various actions required to achieve a good golf swing.

One common flaw especially in men is that they tend to lift their shoulders involuntarily which causes all sorts of problems.

Unless you have the ability to study and copy exactly what the golf instruction DVD or Book is telling you to do you are doomed for failure and frustration. See your golf instructor is the glue that binds everything together, but only if they are on the same page as you when it comes to learning golf.

Look at it this way. If you buy a car like a Ford dealer and then you take your Ford to a Toyota dealership for servicing or repairs, yes the Toyota dealership can do most of the work competently but the Ford Dealership is the expert on Fords.

So my golf instruction tip to you is to buy books that you have a great chance of being taught by the author or accredited teachers of that author. This way you are learning a “golf instruction system.”

With the amount of lessons that I have done it is amazing how many golfers say they wished they had come earlier. As we are able to get them on the road to golfing success much quicker, and this is especially true if they have brought either a book or DVD.

For a few dollars and an hour of your time you will have a better overall concept of what you are trying to achieve with your golf swing. You will also be able to confirm whether what you are doing is on the same page as the instructor.

To me that is the real key. Reading golf instruction books is fun I agree, but you face problems as mentioned above.

So find a golf instruction system like “How to Kill the Ball” taught by Dan Shauger and his network of teachers around the world. Believe me this is the best golf instruction tip for you to enjoy golf.

Moe Norman Mental Golf Secrets

Moe Norman Mental Golf Secrets that he shares in this video is absolutely gold. Moe talks about how today’s golfers are so engrossed in technique they are all getting it wrong.

The art of using the mind and imagination has gone……..or golfers and instructors don’t understand it therefore don’t teach it, or if they do teach it they get it wrong.

You will be seriously impressed with this video from Moe Norman. Incredible simplicity that will change the way you play golf and possibly the way you will look at life.

From Wikipedia Moe Norman

Born in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, Norman developed his golf from childhood at the Rockway municipal course in that city, starting as a caddy in his pre-teen years. He refined his skills competing against talented area players such as Gary Cowan and Gerry Kesselring.

He won back-to-back Canadian Amateur Championships in 1955 and 1956. He turned professional in 1957 and played briefly on the PGA Tour, but due to shyness, bullying he encountered from certain pros, and a preference to stay in Canada, he stayed primarily in Ontario rather than travel extensively outside Canada.

In the 80s, Norman also played several events on the Senior PGA Tour.

Norman’s play, along with his way of dressing, were both described as unconventional. He devised what is known as “The Norman Swing” —- rigid arms extended far from his body, a very wide stance with minimal knee bend, shorter-than-usual backswing and extended follow-through with minimal hand action, which produced amazingly accurate ball placement.

He played extremely fast, sometimes not slowing to line up his putts. He was inducted into the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame in 1995. He was self-taught and never took a golf lesson.

Norman was known for sometimes unconventional behavior on the course. It is said that on one hole his caddy told him he could get to the green with a driver and a 9-iron. Naturally, he hit off the tee with his 9-iron and then hit the green with his driver.

In another event, rather than lay up short of a creek hazard which could not be carried, he bounced his drive across the bridge which crossed the creek.

Norman’s skills as a ball striker are legendary. Sam Snead, himself one of the all-time greatest golfers, described Norman as the greatest striker of the ball. In January 2005, Tiger Woods, the biggest golf star of the modern era, told Golf Digest’s Jaime Diaz that only two golfers in history have “owned their swings”: Moe Norman and Ben Hogan. Stated Woods, “I want to own mine.”

Late in his life, Norman found better financial security when Titleist, a major golf manufacturer, signed him to a lifetime contract to perform golf exhibitions across Canada after he allegedly told a reporter, “Titleist never did nothing for me.”

Norman died in a Kitchener hospital from congestive heart failure, having suffered from the condition since heart bypass surgery six years earlier. He also had a heart attack two years before his death.

Moe Norman Mental Golf Secrets

How to Understand The Mental Side Of Golf

Visit Tracy Reeds Mental Golf website Bio Focus to understand the mental side of golf. I have been using Tracy’s teachings to help me while I have not been able to play golf. I have just followed his visualisation techniques away from the golf course and the results have been absolutely brilliant.

If you use Tracy’s teachings in your golf game you will see and feel a significant difference. You don’t need to change your swing at all. However after doing the balancing exercises and mental drills you may feel like your swing has changed as you become aware of your balance.

Your body won’t let you go to where you want to if your balance is wrong. That’s one of the major keys to learning a great consistent golf swing.

To understand why golf swing breakdowns occur on the golf course, you should understand how the mind and body communicate to create and control body movement.

To start, whenever you wish to move any part of your body, the conscious mind sends the message to the subconscious motor control center to make the movement.

Next, the subconscious mind calls up a set of instructions stored in memory for the movement and loads them to send to the body muscles through the motor nerve fibers.

Once the movement starts, proprioceptors in the muscles sense the movement and send bio-feedback back to the subconscious to let it know what is happening.

The subconscious compares the feedback with the original instructions, makes any needed adjustments, and sends out updated information to improve accuracy of body movement.

This loop of sending out information and checking feedback happens constantly during the golf swing, making thousands of “loops” every second.

For professional golfers who have hit thousands of golf balls, the golf swing that is stored in memory is quite clear. So the only place to look for unexplained mistakes is this communication loop between the mind and body.

If either side of the loop gets blocked, the communication is cut off and the instructions or possibly the corrected instructions never get to the muscles. When this happens the shot is compromised.

What blocks this communication? The answer that has been known for years is conscious thoughts. This why there is so much emphasis on the mental side of the game and why golfers want to get into the “zone.”

But if the traditional golf mental game training approaches worked, golfers wouldn’t have golf swing breakdowns on the golf course… But they do. There are two reasons why:

You cannot consciously remove conscious thoughts – doing so just creates a vacuum that draws in more conscious thoughts.

Traditional mental training focuses the golfer outside of the body on future thoughts (the target) – future and past thoughts are conscious thoughts that act as further distractions to the communication process between the mind and body during the golf shot.

Although hypnosis many times gets results, the golfer STILL has little knowledge of what went wrong when the wheels come off, meaning it could happen again at any time.

Bio-Visual Focus gives you access to see the communication that is going on during the golf swing and shows you how to improve the communication to eliminate unexplained golf swing breakdowns.

Bio-Visual Focus is NOT:

  • Golf swing training
  • Traditional golf mental training
  • Hypnosis
  • NLP
  • Bio-Visual Focus training:

Doesn’t affect any other golf training.
1.Vastly improves consistency, accuracy, and distance.
2.Builds the confidence needed to hold up under pressure.
3.Moves a trained golfer into the zone for every golf shot on the golf course.
4.Has the side affect of adapting your golf swing to fit your body structure AND makes it self correcting

Learning the mental side of golf from Tracy Reed will change your golf game over night. Yes if you take what he says about balance and how to visualise and apply it to your golf game……..you can’t help but be successful.
