Te Awamutu Golf Course and Driving Range

Te Awamutu Golf Course
and
Driving Range

Te Awamutu golf course and driving range is one of the best course situated in the Waikato

The Te Awamutu golf course is one of three course’s in Te Awamutu….. the other two being Stewart Alexander and Pirongia.

Te Awamutu is a par 70 course known as “tree-a-mutu” mainly because of the tight fairways that are surrounded with yes “Trees”. So your shot making ability will be tested especially your ability to hit LOW shot’s to recover from trouble.

There are some very challenging par4 holes which are the 4th, 6th, 9th,12th and 17th. Some of these holes are close to 400 metres long!!! a challenge for any golfer. A Bit of relief comes from the two par 5′s which can be reached with 2 good shot’s.

The course is very easy walking……in fact the biggest walk is getting from the carpark to the clubhouse…..she’s a bit steep.

Te Awamutu is blessed with a great driving range facility donated to the community by Te Wananga O Aotearoa. A PGA certified practise green is also available for training for local members. In fact the facility is so good the New Zealand high performance golf team are regular visitors to the club.

Te Awamutu golf course would be rated in the top 3 courses in the Waikato…..the green’s on the course are sand based which makes for fast straight putting…..well until you hit a break that you didn’t see.

One of the popular days for visitors is the Tuesday midweeks which is only $10.00 to enter. Club days are Saturday and Sunday.

The “Free golf lesson’s” section of my website show’s video footage of the Te Awamutu Golf Driving range facility. All lesson’s for the “A Perfect Swing course” are conducted here.

For all enquiries for the Te Awamutu Golf Club contact Helen Turner….she’s the boss lady that can help you with anything to do with the club…..her number is 07 870 5661.

The course is situated on the main Kihikihi Rd between Te Awamutu and Kihikihi.
